Their Majesties invite one and all to come celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the Society, and bear witness to the coronation of their heirs. Come celebrate the grand traditions of the west with courts, arts, sciences, fighting, singing, dancing, archery, and parties.
Beltane will be at the Marie Hill Ranch, 43700 Highway 128, Mendocino California. Event runs from May 3rd to the 7th. Site opens at noon on Wednesday, closes at 3pm on Sunday. Merchants will be let in at 10 am. Site fee is $12 for members, $15 for non members. Children 10 and under are free.
43700 Highway 128 does not show up on mapping engines thanks to low priority given to hard to find out of the way places ( isn't this exactly why do we need maps?). Also, getting directions to the closest map point, the tiny town of Boonville, will get you the simple, though long route past the site from the south. Here are the faster directions from north or south on Highway 101.
There will be yellow 3 foot by 2 foot SCA Signs with green letters posted at the turns with red arrows pointing toward site.
Take Highway 101 to the North Cloverdale BLVD (Highway 128) Exit. Thats the northern most exit.
Take Highway 128 west (south on your compas). It will split off to the RIGHT of North Cloverdale BLVD just past Buck RD. It is listed as Oat Valley Road on the map. Go RIGHT on Oat Valley Road (Highway 128 west).
Follow Highway 128 for 16 very windy miles, looking for a 4 foot by 3 foot SCA sign on the right. If you reach Yorkville (a post office and quickie mart) You've gone too far.
There is limited water on site, so please make sure you bring water for drinking and washing. Most of the water that IS on site (spigots and creek) is not potable.
There will be one hose on site that has potable water. The Shire of Wolfscairn will be selling bottled water at cost to help avoid long "Soviet Bread Line" style waits for water at the potable spigot.
Wolfscairn will also be selling firewood and propane (small cannisters) at cost and taking orders for ice runs on site.
As in previous years, there certain terms we had to agree to to rent the property. They are:
1 No Ground fires. Only contained, attended and above ground fires with a fire extinguisher within 20 feet are allowed.
2 We are restricted to the areas we have rented. Do not go into the hills and woods surrounding the site. This is where the owner has put the sheep for the duration of the event.
3 Absolutely no pets allowed. As an addendum, this is not an equestrian event, please do not bring horses.

Dealing with Grey water, water supplies, showering are all issues people have been asking about.
Please dispose of Grey water properly. Proper disposal is dumping it on the ground somewhere people are not going to walk. The site owner has no problem with small quantities (a couple of gallons from a shower etc.) being dumped on the ground. Please do NOT dump grey water into the creek.
1: heat water in a kettle, mix with cold water in a basin, sit on a stool in your pavillion and bathe with a sponge.
2: bring a portable shower with solar water bags. Either use the bags normally, or fill them with warm water (heat water, mix with cold, pour into solar bag).
