This is where I learned that design can be used for evil.
Jamaica Red Ale is a real beer being sold to people as I write. Unfortunately the real label would make you think it was a Jolly Rancher or lemonade laced with marajuana.
My label design was meant to market the beer to a more upscale audience. It invokes a time of wooden ships and sail cloth. Quality craftsmanship, and sweating the details seem to be intrinsic to the upscale label.
My first inkling that what I was doing was evil, came to me when I took my first sip of Jamaica Red Ale... Did I mention sweat and sail cloth in the previous paragraph?
