Typewriter is an example of animism (not animation) -the infusion of life into what is normally an inanimate object.
I did this piece to illustrate a page of mine that dealt with changes in technology that I've gone through.
When I was in Junior High School, electric typewriters had been around for a few years, but I had to learn how to type on an ancient manual typewriter that required some major finger pressure to press keys. It was like an unforgiving stair-master for your fingers that reported every misstep onto paper.
Boy, was I glad to get out of that class with a D. This happy machine with a wavy top of hair-like paper and little square rimmed sunglasses looking traction bar is proof that I don't hold it against the machines, and still like the little buggers.
