It was a much simpler time in the early 1990's. The USS Cole had not been attacked, The World Trade Centers had yet to be car bombed and eventually destroyed on September 11th 2001.

Still, even in these times we knew that there were terrorists in the world, and that many of them were Muslim Arabs.

In 1994, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis starred in "True Lies", an action movie about Muslim extremists who terrorize the US on American soil, and threaten to blow up a tactical nuclear device in a crowded city.

Nobody thought that anything like that could ever happen to us. We all thought that True Lies was a fanciful movie, and went on with our lives.

I too did not think anything of the magnitude of September 11 2001 could happen.

That being said, lets get back to looking at my artwork.

The image on the left is an example of comic book art. the drawing is a little rough around the edges, and my often frustrating problem drawing hands crops up here.

The title "View Down" is reflective of the point of view used in this image. It's not straight on, or from below. It's what you would see looking down from a balcony.

Or figure is dressed in a turban, and what could be a close fitting shirt and pants. Oddly, he is wearing a pair of over the knee boots that have flopped over at the upper calf.
